Success Stories

This is what we are all about.

When we place a dog in a great home, everyone in the rescue is elated. Nothing feels better than helping our dogs on their journey to find a forever home where they can love and be loved.

We thank every one of our adoptive families for opening their hearts and homes to our dogs.

These are the most recent MAGSR Success Stories. Success Stories reported prior to 2016 can be found here.

Bailey

Hello MAGSR Family,

Back in March I officially adopted Bailey.... meaning it only took me
about 2.5 weeks of fostering, to completely fall head over heels in
love with this sweet and sassy girl. Words cannot describe how much I
adore her.

Bailey has settled right in at home and she couldn't be any more
perfect. She is extremely polite and gentle, as well as smart, sweet
and goofy!!  She loves car rides, as well as spending time lounging in
her backyard, watching the squirrels and bunnies run about and the
world turn.  She can often be found playing with her large collection
of squeaky stuffed animals/toys, prancing around to show them off and
tossing them into the air.  She has the best manners and enjoys
meeting new people on our daily walks.... have I mentioned she loves
walks!?  She has quickly become a neighborhood favorite, especially
amongst the kids.  She constantly receives compliments from the
parents on how well behaved, gentle and of course how beautiful she
is. Speaking of well behaved, she was the star pupil for her obedience
training with Mason Dixon, completing the course with ease!!

Bailey deserves the best life and I hope to provide that for her each
and every day.  I feel so incredibly lucky to have found her, she is
literally perfection!  I cannot thank MAGSR and Mason Dixon K9 enough,
for making this happen and for all of their help and support.  I wish
all rescues knew their dogs as well as MAGSR and their volunteers do.
I feel like I have gained a new family working with them and will be
only adopting dogs from MAGSR in the future!

Thank you!

Alexis Levy and Bailey:)

Leona
Leona

Leona

Leona continues to be the sassy, strong girl the wonderful MAGSR community May remember! While her DM diagnosis in January 2023 has altered her life, she’s sought out silver linings and continued to find adventure closer to home. She became the mascot of the local farmers market pet stand, is recognized as the applauded surviving-and-thriving-with-DM ambassador  of her neighborhood…. And has exceeded expectations as a big sister !  While we know our time is limited, we continue to cherish it with gratitude for all those who have been part of the journey.

Nigel
Nigel

Nigel

We adopted NIgel, Nemo Litter, on 10/30/2024. When we picked him up, he was about 17 lbs, and since then has grown to over 50! He's a lover, he loves people and dogs alike and has a great personality. He absolutely adores our 13 year old, we call her his old woman. Anytime he's afraid of a loud noise or needs some comfort, he finds some way to squeeze himself onto her bed. He loves to lay on our window bench and keep an eye on the cul-de-sac. We love having Nigel in our family and are looking forward to many years with him.

Louis FKA Falcor

"Hello MAGSR! I wanted to reintroduce you to someone… you called him Falcor, but his new name is Louis (pronounced the French way, obviously). I can’t even begin to tell you how wonderful Louis is, already! As you can see from some of the pictures, he’s made himself at home, and is already my little cuddle bug! My last shepherd was not a fan of going out and meeting people. Louis, is the exact opposite. That alone has made this adoption a complete joy. He’s the coolest pup around and has a fan club already started. I’m getting some special help to address the mouthing. Once he has his impulse control situated, he’s going to be able to conquer the world! Thank you for what you do and for keeping Louis safe until we were able to meet. I couldn’t be happier with this pup. He’s absolutely perfect and awesome!" Thanks! Kendall

Hemi

Hemi is awesome. Such a good dog. Typical goofy German shepherd antics. Been handling his Heartworm treatment well. Got a dog walker that comes once a day around noon and lets him out. His medicine has him peeing a LOT. But overall he’s such a good dog. Everyday his personality comes out more as he gets into a routine. I got really lucky with him. Thank you guys. Can’t believe he was a stray. Crazy.

Jo (fka Ottis)

Jo just hit his gotcha day on March 15 and celebrated in style with vanilla ice cream. He’s the epitome of a little sibling keeping us all on our toes and providing endless snuggles. He loves to let off steam in the yard with all the zoomies and then chasing his brother Nick while he plays fetch. His favorite activity is sitting by the front window to keep tabs on what dogs are making their rounds in the neighborhood.

North (fka Nancy)

North (formerly known as Nancy) has been a wonderful dog and a wonderful companion to our older male husky. They are truly best friends and he protects her every day. She seems to think she is a lapdog and it always needs to be on top of somebody. She is wonderful with her children of all ages.  She very much dislikes the rain and cold, prefers to sunbathe on the deck or in a sunny window.
